Drs. Paul & Carol Wittke
Practice Owner/Veterinarians
Drs. Paul and Carol Wittke are thrilled to serve the greater Lafayette community as veterinarians and local business owners. Dr. Wittke and Dr. Carol are both passionate about veterinary medicine striving to serve the dogs and cats in our area in unique ways.
Dr. Wittke graduated from Oklahoma State University’s vet school in 1993. He has gone thru additional training to become certified in acupuncture thru the Chi Institute and chiropractic care thru the Healing Oasis. He is particularly interested in an integrative approach to veterinary medicine that blends the best of Western medicine with alternative modalities such as traditional Chinese herbs, therapy laser, acupuncture and chiropractic care. He is also devoted to excellence in surgical care and uses a surgical laser to minimize trauma and pain. Dr. Carol graduated from Purdue University’s vet school in 2009. She is particularly fond of her feline patients and strives to have a well-rounded knowledge of medical issues particular to felines. She also loves working with owners wishing to relocate or travel with their pets to other countries. She has helped dogs and cats travel safely to China, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, England, Brazil and other countries!
At home, Dr. Wittke and Dr. Carol share their home with a sweet Small Munsterlander, Cora, and an independent tuxedo cat, Rizzo. They keep busy with their blended family but are so grateful to have found each other later in life.

Dr. Kimberly McMunn
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Kim McMunn graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017, after a 13 year career with the USDA Livestock Behavior Research Unit. She has a Master of Science degree in Animal Science (behavior) from Rutgers University and a Master in Public Health from the University of Minnesota.
She has veterinary experience with cats, dogs, exotics and wildlife, with special interest in animal behavior and wildlife medicine. She has been involved in wildlife rehabilitation for over 20 years at the Wildcat Creek Wildlife Center.
In her spare time, Dr. McMunn competes in dog agility with her Australian Kelpies, hangs out with her cats, and runs marathons and half-marathons around the world.

Dr. Lesa Hofmeyer
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Lesa Hofmeyer loves spending one day a week at BGVC! She is not a recent graduate of Purdue University's College of Veterinary Medicine but could not seem to retire after selling her practice in Kokomo. She has always been most interested in pet wellness and general medical practice. Having raised up 4 children she now enjoys approximately 13 grandchildren. Jerry Lee the Border Terrier is the only child Dr. Hofmeyer has left in the house. Jerry leads her and her husband Alan on hiking, camping, and boating expeditions when he is not supervising her work at the clinic.

Kara
Registered Veterinary Technician
Canine Veterinary Massage & Rehabilitation Therapist
Kara began with us as a volunteer in 2011. She then joined our team as a Veterinary Assistant in November 2012. Kara worked with us while going through school to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. Kara graduated in 2015 from an accelerated program at International Business College – Vet Tech Institute with an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. In 2018, Kara earned a postgraduate and state approved certification in Veterinary Massage and Rehabilitation Therapy from The Healing Oasis in Wisconsin.
Kara’s hometown is Saratoga Springs, NY. She enjoys her home life with her husband (Devin), her son (Harden), two German Shepherds (Ruca and Skyler), and a working K9 Belgian Malinois (Bo). Some of her hobbies include fitness, hiking, and Disney movies.

I love working closely with my rehabilitation patients and their owners to deliver progress, pain relief, and a better quality of life for their beloved pet. I have a passion for orthopedic and neurological cases. They challenge me to think outside the box, as every patient is different. Constant learning and growing is essential and I love it!”

Kay
Registered Veterinary Technician
Kay is one of our Registered Veterinary Technicians. She is a graduate of Purdue's on-campus Veterinary Nursing Program and she has a bachelor's degree in agriculture from Purdue. She, her husband, and their daughter live in rural Benton County with a menagerie of animals including 2 dogs, a cat, numerous rabbits and chickens, and an ever-growing population of goats. When she's not working, Kay can most often be found at her daughter's dance studio, crafting, or working with Nigerian Dwarf goats and Netherland Dwarf rabbits that the family raises and shows.

Hello, my name is Marisol. I graduated from Purdue's Veterinary Nursing program with my bachelors degree in 2023. In my free time, I love to garden, work on various craft projects and spend time with my family which includes my two guinea pigs and my cat.

Hi everyone! I’m Macie. My hometown is Hope, IN but I recently moved to West Lafayette. I am a 2024 Purdue University graduate of the on-campus vet nursing program, and I received my RVT license in January!
I joined the BGVC team in May 2024. Along with taking care of your furry family members, I also enjoy reading, painting, baking, and hiking. Fun fact about me: Dachshunds are my favorite breed.

Registered Veterinary Technician
Sarah is a Registered Veterinary Technician who joined our team in 2021. Since 2023, she has been working remotely. "I am an avid cat lover who began my journey in the veterinary field in 2009 and became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2014. l have spent the last several years working in small animal practice as a veterinary technician with a passion for patient care, understanding disease processes, surgical nursing and anesthesia. I have had numerous cats and dogs over the years that have fueled my curiosity and driven my desire to expand my knowledge. In my off time, I enjoy being with my husband and our furry family, watching movies, playing video games, crafting and singing."

Shanna
Receptionist / Registered Veterinary Technician
Shanna joined our team in August of 2017. She is a Registered Veterinary Technician who earned her Associate of Science Degree from Purdue University in 1999 and then her Bachelor of Science Degree from Purdue University in 2000. Shanna and her husband, Rodger, have 6 children, Jenny, Jessie, Charlie, Colton, Jacqui, and Jozee. Shanna is also a Nana to 5 grandchildren, Declan, Annalynn, King, Kash, and Kambree. In addition, they have horses, pygmy goats, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, cats, and dogs. Shanna volunteers with the White County 4-H Goat Club and is the leader of the White County 4-H Rabbit Club. Her kids keep her busy between their sports schedules and their 4-H activities, but in any spare time she may have, she enjoys reading and spending time with family. We are grateful to have Shanna on our team!

Cindy has been working for Battle Ground Veterinary Clinic since 1997. Cindy is one of BGVC's part-time CSRs. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science from Purdue. Her kitty, Holstein, warms her lap when she’s at home. Cindy enjoys talking to clients about their pets; especially funny or unique ways their pets behave or things they do. She is grateful to be able to serve clients by caring for their pets and we here at BGVC are grateful for her as well.

Anke
Receptionist & Veterinary Assistant
Anke has been working at BGVC since 2022 and works as a veterinary assistant and customer service representative. Anke has a range of experience and has a passion for understanding the relationship between animals and people, which she developed very early on in life. She has volunteered at her local shelters and Lafayette's Columbian Park Zoo. She has had the opportunity to shadow many professionals over the years who have been a great inspiration to her. At home, she lives with a large family of animals: Casper the dalmatian, cats: Sophia, Easter, and Jinx, Aj the bearded dragon, Albert the cockatiel, Mari the rabbit, and two thriving isopod colonies. She is currently enrolled in Oregon State University's E-campus as she works towards her B.S. in Zoology. Anke is also a student pilot, slowly working towards her private rating. When she has free time, she enjoys going out with friends and expressing herself through stained glass artwork with her friend, Breanna.

Chelsea
Receptionist
Chelsea graduated from a small town in Bloomingdale, Michigan and received her dog training certification through Animal Behavior College. She has been with our team since Dec. 2022 as a CSR. She named her Golden Retriever, Geronimo, after her husband’s army unit. Chelsea has done dog training courses in Anchorage, Alaska all the way to Clearwater, Florida. When she’s not at the clinic, you can find her cuddling her two pets and avidly reading Harry Poter. She can’t wait to help you and your pet whether it be scheduling an appt. or building stronger connections through her dog training classes.

Breanna is one of our veterinary assistants. She joined our team in May of 2023 and has found her niche with things related to surgery. She is currently studying to be a registered veterinary technician through Purdue University's Distance Learning Program. She enjoys spending time with her numerous pets.

Veterinary Assistant
Hi! My name is Allie, and I am from Louisville, KY. I began working here as a veterinary assistant in July 2023. I am currently a senior at Purdue University, majoring in Animal Sciences and concentrating in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. I have intentions of attending vet school to become a mixed animal veterinarian. Some hobbies of mine are traveling, listening to podcasts & music and thrifting! I also have a cat named Penny that I spend most of my time with.
